There Comes a Time in Life:

There comes a time in every person’s life and career when things don’t go as well as they usually have before. Walls are hit, obstacles that once didn’t faze you are now impacting how you think, feel, and perform. You don’t really want help, because up to now you have been able to just “do it.” But this time it’s different, it’s harder, lasting longer and maybe even seems impossible. You know there must be a way over it, through it, or around it because you always found a solution before and this can be no different.

In every person’s life, including mine there have been many successes and there have been REAL CHALLENGES that were more than I could overcome on my own. I needed another person or group of people who knew my unique experiences, and not just a professor and his theories or what I got out of some workbook from a well-known company selling the magic five-step formula of the month. I wanted to talk with real CEO’s who have been down similar roads as I, who had lived life, not read about it, but rather owned knowledge and therefore had real suggestions and possibly even solid solutions. I cannot and will not guarantee you magic, but I can guarantee you that I truly care, understand, and can in high probability help you find YOUR MAGIC, and as a result, help you attain higher levels of success as an effective chief executive again.

I have spent a large part of my life digesting and using the knowledge of psychology and business, Chinese philosophy and many other works that have spanned the ages, and come up with a way of approaching leadership styles and executive leadership that hits bulls-eyes.  My approach to leadership development is respectful, straight forward, yet effective. Here are the steps in a generalized format:

  1. We talk in person, over the phone, email, or Skype so that we can determine if we are a good fit. If we are then we move to step two, if not, no fee is charged and we say our farewells.

  2. Tell me about yourself; anything you want to share at first. This can be about cars, friends, sports, home life, or business. The content of our conversations don’t matter as much as the process because it’s the personal connection and establishment of trust that counts. At this pivotal stage trust is paramount. (Research clearly shows that it’s not the process or method used that positively impacts one’s professional development and self-improvement of a chief executive or organization, it’s the personal connection and trust between the consultant and the CEO or organization that is the single largest factor in being successful). Technique and knowledge is important but they play a secondary role compared to trust.

  3. Clarify Objectives: What are the top 2-5 improvements or objectives you would like to make or improve upon? These can be related to executive development, personal executive education, strategic planning, company culture, employee problems, or they may relate to your personal life, happiness, intelligence, goals, drive, or your relationships.

  4. Determine Value: If these objectives were to fully manifest in five days, 6 months, or 2 years, how would they improve your professional and personal life?  What would be the end result?

  5. Discuss Methods: In order to move from where you are to where you want to be, it is vital we outline a clear plan. Yes, this can track left and right, to varying degrees, as we go down this road but it is pivotal to know your precise destination so that you do not travel east headed for Central Park in New York and get side tracked in downtown Chicago.

  6. Clarify Measurement: In other words, what will tell you and show you that you are moving toward your chosen goals? Quite early after you and I have met a few times (often after our first 60 minute introductory period), you will quickly realize that something is totally different about how I approach you and help you see and approach your business.

I have rarely seen the one-size fits all, cookie-cutter approach work successfully for chief executive development and professional insight. (For instance, I don’t know of any major CEO’s that take their taxes to H&R Block even though this is a great service for a very large demographic).

CEO’s are highly individualistic and therefore, the most effective solution is to start with the individual and create an executive development program specifically designed for you, your personality, your organization, its culture, and specific objectives.

The individual leadership program I develop for you will be much quicker, more effective, and longer lasting because we start with YOU and work our way out to the organization rather than pigeon hole you into a box. If we start with you and create an individualistic step-by-step process, you will know within the first sixty minutes that you made a wise investment. Within the first thirty days there will be no doubt in your mind that you made a great decision and be seeing changes in your life and business. Take a moment now to call me so that we can begin creating an executive development program designed specifically for you. Your instincts will tell you within the first five minutes if you made the right choice or not.
